Antibody detection can be used to quantitatively measure the amount of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in the blood. The amount of these antibodies positively correlates with the ability of the body to neutralise the SARS-CoV-2 virus to stop it spreading to the body’s organs.
COVID certificate in case of positive antibodies
Based on the Federal Council decision of 03.11.2021, a COVID certificate valid for 90 days (valid in Switzerland only) can be issued from 16.11.2021 in case of a positive SARS-CoV-2 antibody level.
Until now, only those who could show a positive PCR test could receive a certificate for cured persons. By adapting the ordinance, people who have a positive serological test will also be able to receive a certificate for cured persons. This certificate will only be recognised in Switzerland. These changes will come into force on 16 November 2021.
- People who are vaccinated, unvaccinated or have previously recovered from COVID-19
- People who want to know their antibody response to COVID-19
